"The platform of St Anne's first railway station comprised 'four barrels and two planks' and 'the stationmaster's office, booking office and the whole box of tricks, was contained in a green hut, six ft. by four'. By December 1876 the railway company had completed the station pictured which, with extensions, served the town inadequately until 1925"
