General notes
Landlord of the Gordon.
The Inn was original known as the White Bull and opened before 1772 when two cottages were taken over. An original doorway can still be seen.
It changed name to the Chapel Inn c1800, but then vicar of St Paul's objected, so the name was changed in 1873 to mark the hero of the Crimean War.
Extensions were made to the Inn in 1910, under the condition that the Farmer's Tavern closed.
Further extensions have since been made absorbing 1- 3 Halifax Road.
