In Woods top of Fairy Steps
Beetham
Unfortunately Graystone Bird does not appear to have taken a view of the steps themselves, which are well hidden in one of the cracks in the rock
A legend says that it is called fairy steps because if you could climb the very narrow steps without touching the sides the fairies would grant you a wish.
People who lived on the Kent side of the district used these steps as a short cut to worship at the church at Beetham, which is over the other side of the hill.
