Corporation Jubilee celebrations. Band concert in Accrington market place. Shows tram shelter donated by Alderman Gordon built in 1920.
Note taken from T. Dawson Tramway Treasury Nov. 1919 says Former town magistrate Mr Thomas Gordon gave a gift of £150 for the provision of a substantial permanent shelter on the market place for the intending passengers. Three market stalls were removed and an iron shelter on a concrete base with a lead covered wood roof was erected and known as the Gordon shelter. It was a great boon to passsengers. It was removed in 1953.
