General notes

The gale on Wednesday afternoon uprooted a full grown tree in the grounds of Stanhill Hall Oswaldtwistle. Wednesday was the anniversary of the death of Mr. Bradley's father , Mr. T. Bradley. The noise which accompanied the uprooting caused no little momentary alarm for the inhabitants of the cottage against which the tree came to rest. "Observer" photo.
