Nelson
This was the original Mill of the Ecroyd Family. It was built in 1780 opposite the Ecroyd residence of Lomeshaye House (the same time that Lomeshaye Village was built for the workers. These cottages also had accommodation for handlooms which were reached by the outside steps (note the blocked up doorways on the gable end).
The cottages were demolished in 1963, when they had become known as Lomeshaye Fold Farm.
The barn just of the right of the image was used by Southalls of Lomeshaye Mill until 1984 when it to was demolished.
