Built for the Isle of Man Steam Packet Company in 1927 at the Cammell Laird shipyard, Birkenhead.
Operated from July 1927 to September 1965, mainly as a passenger ferry between Douglas and Liverpool or on a Sunday excursions.

She was requisitioned in September 1939 and served as a personnel ship, mostly based in Scottish ports, until was released from service in May 1946. Also served in the Operation Dynamo - Dunkirk evacuation.

In 1966 scrapped in Bruges by Van Heyghen Freres.
