House of the Walmsley family 200 years ago. The last of the Walmsleys married Thomas Winckley at the end of the century and the house and the estate passed to Lady Francis Shelley (nee Winckley).The estate was broken up and sold in the early part of the 19th century. Lady Shelley's bailiff lived there for a time. From an old drawing, November 12, 1858.
