Located on the banks of the river Brun, this was a major source of water in Burnley during the 1800's. It was reached by crossing a number of stepping stones at the end of Dawson Square. When the river banks were strengthened the well was lost, but the stone structure surrounding it was moved to the grounds of the Old Grammar School.
