New Railway Station, Ansdell, Lytham St.Annes
Ansdell, Lytham St.Annes
Originally a halt on Ansdell Road, a station was erected at Ansdell in 1878. In 1903, the station was moved 100 metres down the line, being known then as the "new" Ansdell Railway Station. In 1906, the station was renamed "Ansdell and Fairhaven".

The station was set out as an island platform with tracks on both faces until the singling of the line in the 1980s. Trains now only use the southern face. A disabled access ramp now covers the northern part of the station. The station building was demolished in 1975.

This image was originally copied from a photograph owned by Mr Peter Stebbings of Lytham St Annes and appears with his permission. His father William George Stebbings was the station master at Ansdell station from the 1890s to the start of World War I and he appears in a 1907 Trade Directory with the address of Woodlands Road.
