"Originally a halt and level crossing at Ansdell Road, this station was erected c.1878 when the Lytham Land and Building Company started developing land between Cambridge Road and Clifton Drive. The footbridge, which is still standing, was erected in 1901. The present station and railway bridge were opened in 1903. The Old station became a goods yard and depot"
