Daniel Jones
Daniel was born in the town of Porth in Wales in 1908. He started his working life in the local coal mines in 1920. After a brief period of unemployment during the 1930's he began working as an aircraft engineer and was awarded the B.E.M. in 1946 for his contributions during World War II.

After the war, Dan became heavily involved in trade unionism and also entered into politics. In 1959 he became the Labour MP for Burnley and stayed MP there until 1983. Unfortunately, he was only retired for a short time before he passed away on the 19th February 1985.
