Located on the corner of 162 Colne Road and Tunstill Street in the Burnley Lane Duke Bar area of Burnley, probably built around 1873, the property was demolished in 2011 as part of a clearance programme. The name board on the side wall states that the landlord is Edmund Smith. The license was transferred from him to James Tattersall in April 1905, so assuming the new landlord would put his own name on it soon afterwards, it seems likely that the image dates from no later than 1905 .
