General notes
The original library was housed in the National School in the "Reading Room", the village library was built in 1974 alongside a clinic and child welfare centre. In 2006 Lancashire CC decided to close the library, but after a well fought campaign the running was taken over by a committee which also runs the village hall, located in the former clinic.
