Waddington
Waddington is a village 2 miles n.w. of Clitheroe. The Old Hall is in the centre of the village.
The greater part of the medieval building is still in existence. It was here where King Henry VI took refuge after the great battle of Hexham in 1464; he was captured and died confined to the Tower of London.
The tapestry room contains hangings restored by John Waddington around 1900.
