Slaidburn
View across the River Hodder showing Dunnow Hall. It was built in the 19th Century for Leonard Wilkinson, a Blackburn solicitor. The view is from the footpath from Newton that runs alongside the River Hodder. There has been a substantial property on this site since at least the 14th Century when it was called Battersby Hall, changing to Dunnow in the late sixteenth century. James Radley (1884-1951), one of the first English aviators was born here.
