General notes

Photo taken from the site of the present Sandy Lane Health Centre. The road on the right is Witham Road and the green railings surround Coronation Park. The pair of semi-detached houses and the shops front Elson Road. Right to left the shops were the Co-op grocers, the Co-op butchers and the Co-op offices. Above the shops was the Co-op Hall used for weddings etc. The Co-op horse and cart were kept in the rear yard of the shops. The Empire Cinema faced the right hand shop. The light coloured tower above the trees was the Mission Sunday School finial.
