The old railway footbridge at the bottom of Pendle Street, looking towards the bend in the track just before reaching Padiham Railway Station.

The railway to Padiham opened in 1875. The passenger line closed in 1957 and the station was duly demolished. However, the line remained open in order to deliver coal to Padiham power station. The line closed for good when the power station was demolished in 1993.
