The Dower House, Worden Park, Leyland
Leyland
Leyland Lodge or Dower House that stood on Worden Park.
Built in 1761 by Captain Isaac Hammon, of the Queen's Royal Regiment, on his marriage to Squire Ffarington's sister.
Some of the occupiers of the house:
1825: Thomas Addison, Surveyor and Land Agent. Probably a descendant of an earlier Thomas Addison who lived for 38 years at Shaw Hall (Worden Hall).
1840 Mr John Morrell who for many years was an agent for the Ffaringtons.
1877: Mrs Harriet Yates.
The last resident there was a Major Cotton.
Then the lodge became vacant, and was demolished.
