Brownlow Arms in Market Place Clitheroe was given its name in 1809 and was an inn till it was demolished in the 1920's to be replaced by another building. Since the 1700s the building had been used as an inn. Till the early 20th Century markets would take place on Market Place. Currently the main market is near Station Road in Clitheroe.
