Briercliffe
Queen Street Mill opened in 1895 and was owned and run by the Queen Street Manufacturing Company, which was a local co-operative. At the time of its closure in 1982 it was the last working steam powered mill in the country. After the closure it was converted into a working museum, which continued to maintain and use 300 of the original Lancashire looms.

This photograph shows a store room full of bags of unprocessed cotton.
