Blackpool Tower. The iconic Blackpool Tower has dominated the skyline of the resort since it was opened in 1894. In the foreground can be seen the Palatine Hotel. Built prior to the Tower it welcomed visitors to the resort until the 1970's when it was demolished to make way for the new Palatine development (now 'The Sands').
