A series of photographs documenting the construction of Blea Tarn reservoir at Scotforth, Lancaster which was started in 1896. The photographs are taken from a bound volume "Photographs Of Blea Tarn Reservoir" the frontispiece is inscribed 'with the Engineer's compliments' and bears the label 'Mr John Cook, Borough Surveyor and Water Engineer'. The reservoir was in use by 1901.The formal opening of the reservoir was held on April 23rd 1902.(see the Lancaster Guardian 19/041902 p8 and 26/04/1902 p5).
