Outside the George the Fourth Public House. The Leyland Festival dates from 1889 and was originally arranged by Sunday School teachers as a children's fete. It ran annually until 1936 missing only 1901-2 and the 4 years of WWI. It was revived in 1951 to celebrate the Festival of Britain.
