General notes
Local officials make a visit to Chaigley Manor in the 1960's. The house in the Ribble Valley was used as a convalescent home for the children of Accrington and District. In the picture on the left standing was the editor of the Accrington Observer - Mr Frank Kitchener and on the right was the Mayor of Accrington, Counciller Michael Walsh in the centre was the MP for Accrington Mr Harry Hynd.
