General notes
There has been a water corn mill by the River Hyndburn in Accrington since the 12th century.
Since 1508 the mill was owned by only seven families

Farington (37 years)
Holden (136 years)
Peel (18 years)
Hepple (59 years)
Baldwin (11 years)
James Baldwin's trustees sold the mill to the Accrington Corporation in 1922.
