General notes
Fern Gore embraces two rows of quaint old cottages situated on each side of a little steam that flows down from Green Haworth and through a small gully or gore where the ferns once luxuriously grew and from which it derives its name. Gore is a Saxon name for stream. A branch of the Riley family settled here in 1690 and worked as woollen weavers
