General notes

Photograph shows number 18,20, 22. 24. A Mrs. Rigby lived in number 18 and an old lady called Kate Lord at number 20 She wore loose fitting clogs and you could hear her clattering about outside as she did her washing and drying. An old man called Wilf lived at 22. 24 was home of Brian Haworth in 1950's His mother paid 1/6d a week rent. The old lady in the photograph is possibly Martha Catlow who lived in an old farmhouse at the bottom of the field

The houses were numbered as part of Aspen Lane. Those in the photograph are numbers 18 - 24. People used to call these cottages "Down t' Troy"
