General notes
Huncoat Whit Monday procession is a fete day for the village. The schools congregated in towngate for the singing, for which the village is famous. At the centre is Councillor R Watson, Mayor of Accrington. He was a former well known vocalist, with a music sheet. This was the last occasion when he took part in the procession, as he died in February 1930.
