General notes
The original Hard Farm was erected in 1611, and rebuilt in 1831. The cottage, now occupied by the golf club, was erected in 1809. Hard farm is situated on Whinney Hill, previously Endfield Moor. Well known families have lived here: Holker, Fort, Maudsley, Wroe-Walton.
