"church bank still exist today a residential estate at the end of barnes st church through the surviving gate posts and is still perimeter walled it was cleared in the 1980s for the bungalows the site had a mansion, factory, greenhouse, cottages and higher works with a resovoir and more works it was in existance from 1772 when the peel family came here from peels fold oswaldtwistle edmund and william peel. Also later in mid 1900s one of the buildings were used by the elderly meetings called companions. The only surviving parts are substations and parts of walls of the mills.
There is reference of earlier 1700s cotton producing with the brewer family." 07/07/2026.
