General notes
Christ Church Vicarage. This building was erected in 1854 and occupies the site of Woolhurst Bank. The steps on the left known as Bank Steps, formerly led to the fold constituting Woolhurst Bank. The bank at this point formerly sloped down to Woodnook water which was culverted by blind Jack O' Knaresboro for the new highway he was then constructing. The white line to the left of the house in the foreground is a pillar or balustrade from old London Bridge looking from the main road like the pillar of a sundial. the grounds to the west are banked by a high wall and to the east a high dividing wall separates it from Bank House. Upon this elevation which is resting upon a rock foundation numerous fresh water springs are to be found and was the main source of supply for the immediate vicinity.
