Information on the photo is as follows
This was erected as a court house in 1838. Many of the well known men of Accrington of early Victorian days havce stayed here as Magistrates, such as Worsleys, Grimshaws and Simpsons

The Old Court house and premises formerly Magistrates Clerks Office, known as Bannisters Office. Police court was held here, the prisoners cells were in the basement. Accrington Local Board held their first meeting in the court house in 1853. Congregationalists and Unitarians commenced here in Accrington, later occupied by Catholic apostolic Church for many years, and at a later period the spiritualists.
This property marked for demolition under Accrington Improvements Act. The buildings next to the court house, at the top of Culvert St was built by the Hargreaves family of Broad Oak, and is in keeping with the Tudor style of Bank Terrace on the opposite side near by
