Youngest of the three sons of James Bullough. John inherited his father's genius as an inventor, he was one of the "Captains of Industry" and an inventor of note. Globe Works owes its remarkable growth to his powers of perception and foresight. Born at Brookhouse Blackburn, and as a youth was fond of music and literature. When his father joined Mr. Howard at Globe works during residence at Baxenden, John Bullough was about 20
and 10 years later , the partners having joined the majority, the management of the concern fell on his shoulders. Extension followed upon extension, until Globe Works became one of the biggest hives of industry in Accrington. He owned the Isle of Rum where is buried.
