Wilfred Briggs second child of William & Johanna Briggs, born 3 October 1870. Aged 11 he was learning the trade of engraver at Steiner's (cotton) print works. This led naturally to the fine work of watch repairing. Married Elizabeth Ellen Hargreaves 1 August 1891 at St. John's Church Accrington and they had 5 children. He served as a special constable during First World War. Died in 1927.
