This coat of arms was published by T. N. Leggett of Halifax, Yorkshire. The inclusion of mutant bugs (seen also on similar postcards) was perhaps not meant to be flattering and the tone of the verse seems derogatory toward Lancashire

The owl is possibly associated with Oldham, and included also are clogs and a tankard, again familiar motif on such coat of arms postcards.
