We believe this picture is by Luke Collinge, a photographer from Turpin Green, Leyland. It is of three of his sons - twins Robert and Walter and older brother William. There were six children - George, Jim, WIlliam, Robert, Walter and Elizabeth (to become Mrs. E. McIlwain). Two of the brothers were killed in action in the First World War: George (11th Liverpool Regiment) 23rd March 1918, aged 26 and William (1st Battalion, Scots Guards) 25th January 1915 aged 21.
The pram in the background of the picture was used to carry the camera, tripod, plates and cloth.
