General notes

Following his hanging in Lancaster his body was returned to Upholland where it rested in the Old Dog Inn prior to his funeral. It's the grave of his daughter, who was buried on April 10th 1804 and is believed to contain George Lyon. It is in the graveyard of Upholland parish church and the inscription simply reads "Nanny Lyon, Died 7th April 1804" .
