Looking towards Poulton Street.
On the left is The Old Counting House belonging to Edward Birley and on the right is the old Ambulance Hall.( For many years the Ambulance Hall was the hub of Kirkham’s social life and the location of many a WW 2 romance.) The Ambulance Hall and the Counting House were both demolished as were the cottages on Mill Street to make way for the Safeway Supermarket. ( Later Morrisons)
