General notes

Work constructing the coke ovens at Pimbo Brickworks, later Ravenhead Brickworks, on Chequer Lane, Up Holland. Part of a larger company including Orrell Brick and Tile Co, off Winstanley Road, Orrell, which had its own railway siding with a link to the main railway line, and Bolton Brick Company. Bolton Brick Company closed in about 1960, Orrell in about 1964 and Pimbo Lane became Ravenhead Brickworks in the early 70's.
