Pimbo Bickworks was part of a larger company including Orrell Brick and Tile Co, off Winstanley Road, Orrell, which had its own railway siding with a link to the main railway line, and Bolton Brick Company. Bolton Brick Company closed in about 1960, Orrell in about 1964 and Pimbo Lane became Ravenhead Brickworks in the early 70's. The factory is sited on Chequer Lane, Up Holland.

Next to Chequer Lane was the Upholland Brick & Tile Works which after Steetley bought it became known as Ravenhead (despite having been part of Ravenhead for a long time).' 08/02/2026.
