General notes
Glenburn was one of two comprehensive schools on the site in Yewdale. The other was Westbank, now demolished. Glenburn is now a sports college. User Comments: 'I use to go to Glenburn in the 1970;s Mr Middleton was our house master and Mr Thomas took outdoor science but I forget the proper name Rural studies that is it They had a disco club called Point six back then but was a great school back then I read that it was demolished a couple of years ago Looking at the big greenhouse I remember they had a chicken run as we use to look after them And hatch chickens from eggs in an incubator I think Miss Freely was the headmistress then also and there was a running sports track and big football/ playing fields looking towards Old Skem They never had a train station back then but said they would build one but never did and people use to get lost going around Skelmersdale But had great views like Ashurst Beacon and you could see winter hill TV mast on good days. 12/01/2024.

They had a disco club called Point six back then but was a great school back then
I read that it was demolished a couple of years ago
Looking at the big greenhouse I remember they had a chicken run as we use to look after them
And hatch chickens from eggs in an incubator
I think Miss Freely was the headmistress then also and there was a running sports track and big football/ playing fields looking towards Old Skem
They never had a train station back then but said they would build one but never did and people use to get lost going around Skelmersdale
But had great views like Ashurst Beacon and you could see winter hill TV mast on good days. 12/01/2024.
