General notes
Lancaster and District Isolation Hospital in Slyne Road opened in 1934. It replaced the old isolation hospital on The Marsh which had flooded and in which the matron had drowned. It eventually became named Beaumont Hospital. Beaumont Hospital closed in 1990 and was demolished, the site of Beaumont Park.
