Arthur Henderson Burnley M.P., Home Secretary, and the representatives of textile manufacturers and operatives who visited Byerden, Primrose, Ferndale and Dean Mills on a fact finding mission to inspect working conditions particularly artificial humidity, (steaming), and "shuttle kissing". Both sides had sent deputations to Henderson as the Labour Government were about to make amendments to the Factory Acts. He had also been to Preston and Blackburn.
