Two giant turtles housed at Morecambe's Marineland have been chosen to star in the feature film "Turtle Diary," alongside one other from Torquay. Starring Glenda Jackson and Ben Kingsley, the film features their fight to free the turtles from their fictitious zoo home in London. The film's producer, Richard Johnson, often discussed the possibility of letting the three turtles go free. After months of planning, the film distributors CBS and British Airways have come forward with £3000-plus in sponsorship to make the ambitious scheme come true. The turtles are now on a plane bound for Florida, USA, to a sea aquarium in Miami.
