A portrait of the doctor. A member of the large Musson family, Dr Edward Musson began as a G.P. In Clitheroe in 1854 in partnership with Dr Garstang. He took over the practice when Dr Garstang retired. He married a daughter of the Steward of Clitheroe Castle and they had 12 children, living most of their lives at Mayfield in Waddington Road. In addition to his medical expertise, he was an accomplished musician, horticulturalist and horseman. He died in1917, his practice being taken over by his son, Dr Alfred Musson
