Henry Riley
Founded in 1901 by Henry Riley in a rough area of Burnley, the Club's first premises amounted to three rooms over a stable in Chaffer Court, Adlington Street. By 1907, the Lads' Club had also taken over the old Foresters' Club in Lindsay Street and had a regular membership of 200; and later in 1907 acquired the old Keighley Green Police Station. A very popular event was an annual camp during the Wakes Week in July. After WW2 eventually the club amalgamated with the Police Youth Club to be come Burnley Boys' Club and still exists as Burnley Boys' and Girls' Club moving to new premises at Barden Lane when the Keighley Green area was redeveloped.
