The original Buck Inn at the junction of Shawbridge Street and Lowergate, the building was replaced (probably during the 1920s) by the new inn of the same name and which still exists. The photo shows the inn and adjacent buildings and a pony and trap stand outside. The proprietors name is seen as Harriet Simpson.

3. HEALD WELL AND BUCK INN
The Buck Inn on the corner of Shawbridge Street and Lowergate was replaced, probably during the 1920s, by the new inn of the same name. The distinctive shop-front of the building next door hasn't changed though.
