General notes
The Primrose Mill site has had various uses and various businesses over its history starting with the establishment of a mill for cotton spinning in 1787. In 1854 Richard Fort bough the whole site and separated various units on the site so that cotton spinning could take place in one area and paper making in another. At the time of the photo the Primrose Paper making works had closed with paper manufacturing having ceased in 1887. The bearings of the wheel appear to have been removed and the area is surrounded by what appears to be demolition spoil. After that that date with some gaps there continued to be various uses of buildings on the site.
