General notes
A view looking north east from Pendle towards the Upper and Lower Black Moss reservoirs. The reservoirs were built to supply the nearby town of Nelson with drinking water. Upper Black Moss was completed in 1894 and the larger Lower Black Moss in 1903. This photograph was taken from Cock Dole, above Ogden Clough on the flanks of Pendle Hill.
